This Year’s Program
Chamber music offers students a unique musical experience that differs from both solo performance and large ensemble playing. Because every musician has an independent part and an essential role in the ensemble, students develop stronger skills in listening, communication, leadership, and collaboration. This year, with Jennifer’s background in orchestration and arranging, a few ensembles will also perform carefully adapted repertoire tailored to their instrumentation and skill levels, allowing each group to experience music that is both artistically rewarding and educationally meaningful.
Special guests this year include The Highland String Quartet, Brawlin’ with Tchaikovsky, Julie Deters, and Christian Eggert Violins. From interactive guidance from local musicians with Quartet expertise, giant Jenga fun, specialized yoga practices for players, and first-hand knowledge of instrument care and craftsmanship, students will benefit from this wide spectrum of experiences.
