2026 Quartet Project Program Information

Schedule & Overview

Participants meet in the Twin Ports (Primarily, Duluth) MN over two consecutive weeks in the summer for rehearsals, coaching sessions, a side-by-side performance with the LSCO, and a final recital concert of their own to wrap up the summer program.

Rehearsals and coaching sessions will be held Mon., Weds., and Fri. from June 29- July 10. These will be led by faculty artists from the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra (LSCO) from 9:20 AM – 3:30 PM.

Students will also rehearse with the LSCO on (Mon.) July 6 and (Weds.) July 8 at 7:00 PM, leading up to the public concert performance with the LSCO on the evening of (Thurs.) July 9.

The Quartet Project students will present their own public recital concert on (Fri.) July 10 at 4:00 PM.

Program Application

There is a two-part process to apply for the Quartet Project: Registration & Auditions

Registration

To fully register, please complete the registration form and submit your $50 deposit minimum by (Fri.) May 1.

Auditions

Auditions for the Quartet Project will be conducted virtually in order to group students by ability level and select appropriate music. Students are asked to prepare a short solo piece that showcases their abilities and upload your audition recording to your platform of choice (Drive, Dropbox, Youtube, etc.)Currently formed quartets are welcome to audition together as an ensemble.

Tuition & Payment

Tuition for the Quartet Project is $280 per student. Discounts are available for families with multiple students.

$50 deposit minimum is due by (Fri.) May 1.  with a completed registration form to fully register.
(Special Note: Processing fee waived if paid in full!)

Final payment is due by (Fri.) June 12.

Financial Assistance & Opportunities

As well as discounts available for families with multiple students, we offer guidance to all families on how to file for eligible tax benefits to help offset the cost. Additionally, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra offers a limited number of need-based scholarships to assist with tuition.
